Charlie is a former Resident Assistant Director at Sheffield Theatres and graduate of Birkbeck's MFA in Theatre Directing. He was a recipient of the John Fernald Award in 2017. He also has a First Class BA Honours degree in History from King’s College London.
He was the Resident Director on the War Horse UK & International Tour 2019-2020.
In 2017 he founded Kenber&Son with artist and designer RL Wilson, and has been making work in and around Sheffield, including Love Song and On Behalf of the People.
In 2014 he co-founded Pivot Theatre, a company committed to new writing and exposing the intricacies of contemporary life.
